Land was previously called Hazard. Land is a better term since it applies to the whole life-cycle of a Hazard from identification through the Land release process until the Hazard is declared not to be a threat to the population.

Land is classified as:

  • Indication
  • Suspected hazardous areas (SHA)
  • Confirmed hazardous areas (CHA)
  • Ammunition storage / Stockpile
  • EOD Spot task

New fields in versions 6.0 are

Summary window displays information about the Land ID, as well as location and country structure information. The window also includes seven tabs that display the following data:</p>

  • The Land tab displays general information, such as the name of the land, a description of the land, its status, and its priority.
  • The Terrain tab displays information about the landscape containing the land, such as vegetation, slope, drainage features, and metal contamination.
  • The Clearance tab displays recommendations and information for the clearance of the land.
  • The Munitions tab displays a table listing technical information about the devices that make up the land.
  • The Blockage tab lists public features such as roads and fields that are blocked by the presence of obstacles or hazards on the land, as well as any fighting present in the area.
  • The Medical tab lists the name of and travel time to any medical facilities associated with the land.
  • The Geospatial tab displays geographical information, such as the coordinates, size, and borders of the area associated with the land. This information is represented as points and polygons.
