Similar to the zoom-in button (page 24), the zoom-in and recentre button,
, displays a smaller map area at a larger scale. Unlike the zoom-in button, the button also recentres on the point that you select on the map.
To recentre and zoom in on the map:
- Click the
button to enable the map control. - Select the area on the map that you would like to zoom in on and recentre the map:
- Click the map.
- While holding down the mouse button, drag the mouse to form a rectangle around the map area you would like to select.
- Release the mouse button.
- To disable the map control, select another GIS map control.
The selected map area is displayed at a larger scale in the centre of the map pane.
