To add a new role:

  1. From the Accounts menu, select Roles.
  2. The Role List window displays.
  3. Click the FieldTemplateIcon.png button.
  4. The Role Editor window displays.
  5. Enter a unique role name in the Role field.
  6. Perform the following actions to assign permissions to or remove permissions from the role:

Assign selected permission(s) to a role
  1. Select the permission(s) that you would like to add to the role from the Available Permissions list.
  2. Click the File:Assigns Select.png button.
Assign all permissions to a role. Click the File:Assigns All.png button.
Remove selected permission(s) from a role.
  1. Select the permission(s) that you would like to remove from the role from the Chosen Permissions list.
  2. Click the File:Removes Select.png button.
Remove all permissions from a role. Click the RemovesPermissions.png button.
Note.jpg To select multiple permissions that are listed one after another, hold down the [Shift] key and click the range of permissions that you would like to select.

To select multiple permissions that are not listed one after another, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click the permissions that you would like to select.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • To save the role, click the Save button.
    If the role is added successfully, the message “Role permissions successfully saved” displays the role displays in the Role List window.
Warning.jpg The following error message indicates that you have entered a role name that is being used by another role.
Role name ___ already in use. Please enter a unique role name.

Click the OK button and create the new role with a unique role name.

    • To discard the role name and close the Role Editor window, click the Cancel button.
