This page is the main hub for all topics related to MINT. It can be accessed through two angles:

  1. By topic, for looking up specific information.
  2. By tutorial (administrator/user), for following a virtual training course. The tutorial pages link to the topic pages for background information and include scenario-based exercises. The tutorials are still under development though and currently not a complete stand-alone training.

MINT by topic

MINT tasks for administrators

  1. Administrating MINT: management of (sub)organisations (comparable to spaces ensuring that only users from within an organisation have access to certain data), roles and users.
  2. Creating Data Sources in MINT: once the organisation is set up and roles and users are defined, the connection to the data sources to be analysed needs to be set up.
  3. Creating MINT Domains: domains are a mapping between (technical) source data and the end-user-friendly data view in MINT. Domains need to be defined and built step-by-step using the built-in Domain Designer.
  4. Securing MINT Domains: optionally, domains can be secured, i.e. the data - or part of it - can be made visible to only certain users or roles.
  5. Creating Custom Home Pages in MINT: the entry page a users sees when logging in can be adapted on a per-role basis.
  6. Customising MINT: advanced users can customise the appearance of MINT for a given organisation. This can include changing logos and colors.

MINT tasks for users

  1. Creating Ad Hoc Views in MINT: ad hoc views allow ad hoc exploration of data, usually using domains as a source.
  2. Creating Reports in MINT: a report is based on an ad hoc view. It can contain input controls but, as opposed to a domain, it cannot be changed directly. In order to change its appearance and the data displayed, the underlying ad-hoc view needs to be changed.
  3. Scheduling Reports in MINT: a report can be scheduled, i.e. its execution can be automatised based on a recurrence pattern.
  4. Creating Dashboards in MINT: several ad hoc views, reports, and external components (e.g. images, web sites) can be combined to form a digital dashboard.
  5. Using MINT mobile: ad hoc views and reports can be accessed from a mobile device, such as a tablet or mobile phone
