Completing a Field Report

  • Click a field report template on the Templates tab.

Entering Data

  1. Enter alphanumeric values in the text fields.
  2. Enter numeric values in numeric fields.
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Use decimal (not comma) separators when entering data into number fields.
  1. Click Select a Date.png to select a calendar date.
  2. The selected day, month, and year display on the field report.

Entering Auxiliary Data

  1. Click File:Select Country Structure Area2.png to select a country structure area.
  2. The selected country structure area displays on the field report
  3. Click File:Select an Organisation.png to select an organisation.
  4. The selected organisation displays on the field report.
  5. Click Select a Place.png to select a place.
  6. Click File:Select an Explosive.png to select an explosive ordnance.
  7. The selected ordnances display on the field report.
    1. Enter a number in the Quantity column.
    2. Enter data in the other columns as necessary.

Entering Geospatial Data

Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Enter only coordinates for absolute points.
  1. Click File:Select an Explosive.png above the Points table to open the Point dialog box.
  2. Enter a unique numeric point number in the Point No field.
  3. Enter a unique alphanumeric local identifier in the Local ID field.
  4. Enter coordinates according to the default coordinate system and format.
  5. Click OK.
  6. The point displays in the Points table.

Entering a Relative Geospatial Point

  1. Click File:Select an Explosive.png above the Points table to open the Point dialog box.
  2. Enter a unique numeric point number in the Point field.
  3. Enter a unique alphanumeric local identifier in the Local ID field.
  4. Enter the distance from another point in the Distance field.
  5. Enter the bearing in degrees (0 to 360) from another point in the Bearing field.
  6. Select the Local ID of a referenced point from the From Point list.
  7. Click OK.
  8. The entered point displays in the Points table.

Adding a Polygon or Polyline

  1. Click File:Select an Explosive.png above the Polygons table to open the Polygon/Polyline Editor dialog box.
  2. Enter a unique alphanumeric local identifier in the Polygon/Polyline Shape ID field.
  3. Select either the Polygon or Polyline option.
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Selecting the wrong option (such as selecting Polygon and drawing a polyline) can cause mapping errors when a field report is imported into IMSMA NG.
  1. Select an option from the Polygon Property list if required.
  2. Click File:Select an Explosive.png above the Polygon and Polyline Points table.
  3. Enter polygon/polyline points into the Point dialog box the same way as when adding an absolute geospatial point or a relative point.
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. You can use an existing point from either the Points or Polygons table to create a relative polygon/polyline point.
  1. Click OK in the Point dialog box.
  2. The point displays in the Polygon and Polyline Points table.
  3. When each of the points has been added, click OK in the Polygon/Polyline Editor dialog box.
  4. The points display in the Polygons table.

Adding Attachments to a Field Report

  1. Click Attach file at the bottom of the Field Report Editor.
  2. Click Browse in the Attach file dialog box.
  3. Choose a file, and then click Open.
  4. Click Attach in the Attach file dialog box.
  5. The file name of the attached file displays at the bottom of the Field Report Editor.

Saving a Field Report

  1. Click Save As.
  2. Enter a unique file name in the Field Report File Name field.
  3. Click Save.
  4. The field report displays by file name and save date on the Field Reports tab.

Exporting a Field Report

  1. Select the check box next to each field report to export from the Field Reports tab.
  2. Click Export.
  3. The field reports no longer display on the Field Reports tab.
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Locate the .zip file of exported field reports in your export directory. This file will be emailed to your program’s headquarters, unzipped, and imported into IMSMANG.

Importing a Field Report

Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. You can also copy and paste a set of field reports from the c:\IMSMAng directory into the c:\IMSMARE directory.
  1. Click Import on the Field Reports tab.
  2. Click Browse to locate the field report.
  3. Select the field report, and then click Open.
  4. Click Import.
  5. The imported field report displays on the Field Reports tab by file name and import date.
  6. Click OK to return to the Field Reports tab.

Editing a Field Report

Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Ensure that the template used to complete the field report is stored in the c:\IMSMARE\webapp\templates folder.
  • Click the field report on the Field Reports tab.

Editing Data

  1. Edit the values in numeric and alphanumeric fields.
  2. Click File:Pencil.png to edit auxiliary data, or click File:Remove.png to delete auxiliary data.
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Deleting a geospatial point that is referenced by another point will cause an error when viewing the field report in IMSMANG.

Deleting an Attachment from a Field Report

  • Click X next to an attachment at the bottom of the Field Report Editor.

The attached file is removed and no longer displays

Saving Changes to a Field Report

  • To overwrite the existing field report, click Save.
The updated field report displays on the Field Reports tab.
  • To save a new field report, click Save As.
  • Enter a unique file name in the Field Report File Name field, and then click Save.
The new field report displays on the Field Reports tab.

Deleting a Field Report

Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. Ensure that the template used to complete the field report is stored in the c:\IMSMARE\webapp\templates folder.
  1. Select the check box next to each field report to delete from the Field Reports tab.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. When prompted to confirm, click Delete.
