The sections on this page will guide you through starting and configuring iReport.

Starting iReport

iReport is installed with IMSMA and may be started via the IMSMA Control Centre. To start iReport:

  1. Ensure that the IMSMA server is started.
  2. Right-click the IMSMA Control Centre icon that is displayed in the lower, right corner of your Windows’ desktop.
  3. Select the Start IReport option.

Configuration

Note.jpg The required configuration is usually set during the installation process and you do not need to change anything. However, two basic configuration options are mentioned here, for information and in case the configuration seems incomplete on your IMSMANG installation. If at all, these steps will only need to be completed once.

Setting the Compilation Directory

Note.jpg This configuration is set by default.

As reports are generated, iReport creates several files which it uses to produce the report results. To set the compilation directory:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options.
  2. The iReport – Options window displays the iReport tab.
  3. Select the Compilation and execution tab.
  4. Check the Use Report Directory to Compile checkbox.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. The iReport – Options window closes.

Importing Data Sources

Note.jpg The IMSMANG data sources are automatically imported into iReport during the installation process.

To import the data sources that are available for IMSMA:

  1. From the iReports toolbar, click the Report Datasources icon, Connection datasources.png.
  2. The Connections/Datasources window displays.
  3. Click the Import button.
  4. The Open window displays.
  5. From the Open window:
    1. Navigate to the C:\IMSMAng\iReport\IMSMA DATASOURCES folder.
    2. Select the IMSMA DATASOURCES.xml file.
    3. Click the Open button.
    4. A window displays how many connections were imported.
  6. Click the OK button to close the window that displays the number of imported connections.
  7. Close the Connections/Datasources window by clicking the IReportX.png button displayed in the upper, right corner of the window.
Note.jpg The following IMSMA data sources are most commonly used as the primary data source for a report:
  • Accident
  • Assistance Classification
  • Cause Classification
  • Field Report
  • Hazard
  • Hazard Reduction
  • Location
  • MRE
  • Needs Assessment Classification
  • Organisation
  • Place
  • Task
  • QM
  • Victim
