Items Pane

The items pane of the IMSMANG Main Navigation window consists of tabs for the different items and a toolbar to the right. The buttons interact with the map. The number displayed in brackets on each item tab is the number of records for the item in the selected country structure.

There are three different types of items in the Item pane:

Functions in the Items Pane
If you do this… This will happen…

Double-click on item row The Summary window opens.
Double-click on a Task row The Task editor opens.

Customising which columns is Displayed

IMSMANG allows users to customise the columns that are displayed in the item pane (and list windows). Users can choose from all data element for each item as well as several of the Location data element set. What columns each user has chosen is stored in the database.

Note.jpg Because some columns takes longer time to load, users should be aware that system performance may be affected negatively by adding location fields, country structure fields and many Custom Defined Fields.

Displaying records in the item pane

To display item records in the items pane:

  1. Expand the country structure tree using the PlusIcon.png button to locate the country structure area for which you would like to view records.
Note.jpg Be sure to wait until the country structure area that you would like to view is displayed in the country structure pane before clicking the country structure area name. Clicking the name of a country structure area will cause that country structure area’s records to display in the items pane.
  1. Click the name of the country structure area for which you would like to view records.
  2. The item tabs display active records for the selected country structure area and all country structure areas within it. Each tab in the items pane displays the number of item records listed in the tab.

Displaying records on the map

To display an item record’s geospatial data on the map:

  1. Ensure that the theme for the item that you would like to display on the map is enabled.
  2. Ensure that the item record that you would like to display on the map is displayed in the item pane.
  3. From the items pane on the IMSMA Navigation window, click the row associated with the item record that you would like to display on the map.
Note.jpg Rows with a gray background indicate that the item record does not have geospatial data associated with it.

The map displays the item record’s geospatial data. An additional point is displayed to represent the centroid. The centroid is the calculated centre point for a set of coordinates. Note that it may take a few seconds to update the map.
