Geospatial data for a Data Entry Form is entered by clicking the File:PencilBtn.png button on the Data Entry Form Editor window.

This displays the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.

There are numerous options for entering geospatial data into a Data Entry Form. These options include:

  • Entering the data manually
  • Drawing on the map
  • Importing data from a spreadsheet
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA. For more information about geospatial data entry, refer to Geospatial Data.

Manually adding geospatial points

To manually add geospatial data for a point:

  1. From the Data Entry Form Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
  2. The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
  3. From the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window:
    1. Select the coordinate reference system that you would like to use from the Coordinate System list.
    2. Select the coordinate format from the Coordinate Format list.
    3. Follow the procedures detailed in How to Manually Add a Geospatial Point.
  4. Click the OK button to close the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.

Manually adding polygon and polyline points

To manually add geospatial data for a polygon or polyline:

    3. Follow the procedures detailed in How to Manually Add Polygon and Points.
  4. Click the OK button to close the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.

Drawing on the map to specify point coordinates

Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA. Before beginning these procedures, you should ensure that the map displayed on the Navigation window is at an extent that allows you to capture the coordinates.

To specify point and polygon coordinates by drawing on the map:

  1. From the Data Entry Form Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
  2. The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
  3. Follow the procedures detailed in How To Draw On The Map To Specify Point Coordinates.

Importing geospatial data for a polyline or polygon

To import geospatial data from an Excel spreadsheet:

  1. From the Data Entry Form Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
  2. The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
  3. Follow the procedures detailed in How To Import Geospatial Data.
