Enter Geospatial Data in the Data Entry Form

Geospatial data for a field report is entered by clicking the File:PencilBtn.png button on the Field Report Editor window.
This displays the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.

There are numerous options for entering geospatial data into a field report. These options include:
- Entering the data manually
- Drawing on the map
- Importing data from a spreadsheet
Manually adding geospatial points
To manually add geospatial data for a point:
- From the Field Report Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
- The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
- From the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window:
- Select the coordinate reference system that you would like to use from the Coordinate System list.
- Select the coordinate format from the Coordinate Format list.
- Follow the procedures detailed in How to Manually Add a Geospatial Point.
- Click the OK button to close the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.
Manually adding polygon and polyline points
To manually add geospatial data for a polygon or polyline:
- From the Field Report Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
- The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
- From the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window:
- Select the coordinate reference system that you would like to use from the Coordinate System list.
- Select the coordinate format from the Coordinate Format list.
- Follow the procedures detailed in How to Manually Add Polygon and Points.
- Click the OK button to close the Point and Polygon/Polyline List window.
Drawing on the map to specify point coordinates
Represents a tip or note for using IMSMA Mobile. | Before beginning these procedures, you should ensure that the map displayed on the Navigation window is at an extent that allows you to capture the coordinates. |
To specify point and polygon coordinates by drawing on the map:
- From the Field Report Editor window, click the File:PencilBtn.png button.
- The Point and Polygon/Polyline List window displays.
- Follow the procedures detailed in the How to draw on the map to specify point coordinates section on page 100.
